My research spans philosophy of science, philosophy of mathematics, and logic, concentrating on problems surrounding theory choice. Examples of questions I pursue include: when two scientific theories should be regarded as equivalent; how we can assess and compare theoretical redundancies; whether there can be an objectively true theory for a given area of mathematics. I approach these questions through a combination of conceptual analysis and formal tools from mathematical logic.
Before coming to the University of Pittsburgh in 2025, I graduated from the Master of Logic program at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC), University of Amsterdam. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Peking University.
