Biography

Before coming to the University of Pittsburgh in 2015, I did my undergraduate work at the University of Missouri in philosophy and classics and spent several years at the University of Toronto, where I received my M.A. I am primarily interested in ancient philosophy, especially the ethical naturalism of the Hellenistic schools. I am particularly interested in the way in which the Hellenistic schools attempt to identify or ground their conception of the good in the natural and uncorrupted operations of newborn living things, so-called “cradle arguments.” I am also interested in moral psychology, philosophy of action, and political philosophy more generally.
