Before coming to Pitt in 2023, I studied at Brown University, where I concentrated in mathematical physics and philosophy (and before that, I studied just down the street from the Cathedral, at The Ellis School!).

As a philosophy student, I have a cluster of interests in the history and philosophy of physics and in the metaphysics of science. I have a particular soft spot for questions about explanation—what we want out of explanations in science and in everyday life, what it takes to get those things, and why. I am also interested in aesthetics and the philosophy of sport.

Outside of philosophy, I am a lifelong athlete currently transitioning into competitive CrossFit and a certified space nerd currently helping out as a student-engineer on CMU’s lunar rovers. (That’s me looking Very Serious in my flight jacket at Mission Control!)
