I joined the Philosophy Department at Pitt in 2010 after undergraduate and graduate studies in philosophy at Sapienza – University of Rome. I am mostly interested in perception and intentional action and in their relation to epistemology and ethics, respectively. I have worked especially on Anscombe, Foot, Sellars, Davidson, Brandom, and McDowell. My current project concerns the relation between mastery of ethical concepts and proper motivation; in particular I’m investigating and assessing the idea expressed by Murdoch’s claim that “true vision occasions right conduct.”
